Is the pocess of making silicone products the same as plastic ?

Hello,
I'm wondering if a product made from silicone is made in the same way as something that is made of plastic. I'm looking into making something with silicone, but am not sure if the costs would be greater than making it with plastic. I am considering silicone because it works well with heat.

Hi Sally,

You can't actually compare the two since each one has about a million versions. As just a basic material cost factor plastic is less than silicone, but when you need it to act in a certain way the cost doesn’t really get a vote.
